While most ladies are in mourning now that Hollywood actor, George Clooney is off the market, his fiancé, Amal Alamuddin (who, by the way, just so happens to be a lawyer and human rights activist), is no doubt one very happy woman.
According to People magazine, the ring is an ethically mined (this comes as no surprised given that both of them are activists), seven carat diamond which George himself helped design. View the gorgeous ring here.
The couple were dining out with close friends, Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, when photographers managed to snap a picture of the diamond ring. The engagement comes as a surprise to many, especially given that they’ve only been dating for seven months.
And while there’ve been stories about how Amal has finally managed to tame Hollywood’s “eternal bachelor”, we think that he’s pretty lucky to have her on his arm.
Rumour has it that the internationally accomplished lawyer whom - according to Forbes.com - at one stage represented Julian Assange, denied him more than once before agreeing to go on a date with him.
With her beauty and impressive curriculum vitae (she studied at Oxford, is fluent in English, French and Arabic and is currently an advisor to former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan), it’s no wonder George is so smitten.
