Caring Dad Sings Blackbird To His Dying Newborn Son After Wife Dies

A beautiful, heart-breaking video of a young father whose wife has just died is enough to reduce anyone to a puddle of tears. In the video professional musician Chris Picco sings the Beatles song Blackbird to his dying newborn son, Lennon, as the tiny baby lies in an incubator in ICU.

His wife, Ashley, died following an emergency C-section, according to Buzzfeed.

Double tragedy

Her death was shocking and unanticipated for Chris, who vowed to throw his energy into caring for their son, Lennon James Picco, which is why he recorded the video of himself singing the haunting tune.

In a further devastating turn of events, little Lennondied in his father’s arms just two days after the video was taken; according to his dad, he was wearing a little babygro decorated with guitars.

Chris, in a heartfelt statement following the death of his child, commented that he and his late wife had been privileged to watch their child forming in the womb and that he was grateful that he’d had the chance to hold his son, if only for a short time.
