5 Easy Ways To Update Your Wardrobe This Spring

Updating your look doesn’t mean you need to invest in a whole new wardrobe. Small changes can make a big difference.

Updating your wardrobe doesn’t mean you have to become a fashion victim or a walking label.  Rather, it’s about carefully selecting items that will easily update your existing wardrobe to give you the look you desire.
Most fashion items come at various price points.  If you are going to splurge, then make sure you will love it for a few seasons to come.  If it’s a passing craze, then settle for a cost-effective rendition.
Here are a few of my favourite pieces to add to your wardrobe this spring:
1. Brogues

These masculine-looking shoes have been given a feminine makeover.  You will see them in various styles, colours, fabrics and heels.  Depending on the look you are going for will depend on the style you choose.  If you want to add a bit of bling, go for patent leather or metallic.  If you are a classic dresser, a simple black leather pair will do.  These can be fun to wear as daywear.  They are perfect for spring when it’s not quite warm enough for sandals, but too hot for boots.

2. Cat-eye sunglasses

The vintage glam look of the Sixties is big for spring and cat-eye sunglasses is a must.  You will see them in a various sizes, colours and shapes to suit a variety of face shapes and complexions.  When it comes to carrying off a pair of daring sunglasses, it comes down to your personal style.  A dramatic pair may suit a vintage queen, but a subtler cat-eye shape may work better for a classic dresser.  You can really have fun with this one.

3. Something sporty

The sporty look has turned chic.  Mixing sporty items with feminine pieces is what it’s all about.  You can go wild with this trend or keep it subtle. Boldly mix a sporty top with a flirty skirt and sneakers or just trade your wedges or trainers for fashionable sneakers when wearing jeans.  Make it your own and play.

4. Flower power
Just when I thought that the floral trend couldn’t get any bigger…it did.  There are a huge variety of floral prints out there to choose from.  Everything from subtle monotonepastel watercolours to bold and bright.  If you are afraid to wear prints because you think they will make you look bigger, remember that prints disguise a multitude of things that plains won’t.  Just get the fit and style right and you are good to go.  If it’s still not for you, wear a printed floral accessory.

5. A flirty dress
Dresses are my all-time favourite, especially since they are so easy to wear.  Select a dress that suits your shape and is easy to dress up or down.  A beautiful dress is worth investing in, so take the time to find the perfect one for you.  Styles that fit in the waist and flair at the hem suit most shapes and, once again, prints reign.
