After an absence of two months Generations returned to our TV screens on Monday night.
Set two years in the future (awkward silence), there’s a new cast and storyline.
Here are 4 things you need to know about the new show:
1. Back to the futureSet two years in the future (awkward silence), there’s a new cast and storyline.
Here are 4 things you need to know about the new show:
The soapie has totally re-branded itself starting with its name - Generations The Legacy. It also has a new opening sequence and theme song that has a distinct 90s feel too it. (Sorry not sorry)
2. Lost the plot
Forget about everything you remember about the last show. The new show is set two years later but it kinda still looks very much in the present. Karabo Moraka and Tau Mogale have each returned to establish their own legacies. So expect lots of drama between these two. From what we’ve seen in the first episode there are a couple of sub plots. One that will be particularly interesting to see unfold is that of the younger Morakas who are now all grown up. And could another Moraka love child be making his appearance?

3. Who that girl?
Alongside Connie Ferguson and Rapulana Seiphemo are some familiar TV faces and new ones. Letoya Makhene plays Tau’s sister and wife of gangster Gaddaffi played by Vuyo Dabula. Gadaffi and Tau have some serious beef! New faces from the first episode who have made an impression are Moopi Moothibeli who plays Smaga Archie’s son and heir to the Moraka throne. Musa Ngema who plays Mazwi who could be Archie’s love child by the looks of it. Manaka Ranaka plays Lucy who has just been released after doing some jail time.
4. The people have spoken
People were very vocal on Twitter! There are two camps: some who like it and will give it a chance and others who find the new show a totally waste of TV time.
